Flying Carp
For my final project of my Masters in 2017 I produced a graphic novel of my Mum’s decline into Dementia. I wanted to record not just the horrors of a fractured health care system with a chasm laying in wait between the NHS and Social Care, but also to record the working class history that our family were so embedded in. Afloat has been featured in many journals, academic books on adult care and even published in Korean. Although currently out of print I have plans to relaunch it and am determined to find a wider market for a book with a story that needs telling.
